The OD820 features a unique circuit that converts the 9 volt power input up to 18 volts. This gives the Maxon OD-820 tons of headroom for use as a clean boost and increases the dynamic range for a true full-frequency response. The Overdrive knob acts as a Blend as well so when you back off all the way, you only get the clean signal with no coloration. The Maxon OD-820 was designed to fill the shortcomings of other tube screamer circuits and it has with ease.

This is one of the best sounding overdrive pedals on the market. The Maxon OD-820 Overdrive Pro responds to the guitar's volume and picking dynamics in a way that no other pedal can. When cranked up, the Maxon OD-820 produces thick, rich overdrive with sustain and tone for days. The tone control is very interactive with the other controls and will yield tones that are bright and crisp, warm and muffly, and even a cocked wah tone. Instead of knobs, this one has 4 preset switches. going left to right, each preset just adds depth and color to your sound. it's spectacular for cleans, leads, even to thicken up heavy rhythms!

If you ever get the chance to run it in stereo, it's like an aural acid trip! it's just a fantastic sounding pedal. BossArea.com says describes the effect as one where "thickness, depth and a sense of width, is added to the sound to produce a kind of 3D effect.

It is quite rare and it's not uncommon to see it go for a lot of money in the used pedal market. There isn't any way to adjust your sound other than to choose from one of the four presets. It produces a distortion sound with a hard edge and is known to have a very low noise level compared to other distortion pedals.

Many people swear that this particular older MADE IN JAPAN models sounds better than the even MADE IN JAPAN models. The splaty gain of the stock BD-2 is a common gripe I hear about others that offer mods for this pedal. We have removed this issue with this pedal. It builds on the lagacy of the Roland AS-1. Like all compression pedals it reduces the output of sounds over a set threshold relative to the strength of the input signal, making levels consistent and improving sustain. In the CS-1 this is done by means of photocouplers. The later CS-2 and CS-3 used VCA's (Voltage Controlled Amplifier) to create the same effect. The sound of the CS-1 is thus very different from its successors.

Darren Lauhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17437457206158103373noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5822847072734380825.post-13979393975186669942009-09-09T11:43:00.004+08:002009-09-14T16:32:22.628+08:00Sansamp GT-2. It gives you over 20dB of clean boost, which could help in many applications such as increasing your signal over a long stretch of cables. The Xotic RC Booster has a two band active EQ, providing +/- 15dB for Bass and Treble. Active electronics offers a wide range of possibilities because you can cut or boost either frequency! The RC Booster can push an amp into overdrive with the massive amount of output or add some dirt with the Gain control. Whichever application you use, your original tone will maintains it's integrity and transparency due to the high quality components and true bypass switching.

By connecting this pedal between your guitar and other effect pedals, this sustains the original guitar sound all the way to amp as well as emphasizing any effects sound characteristics. This pedal also acts as a buffer that helps to fight against signal degradations caused by long cables as well as electromagnetically noisy condition.

The RC Booster's Gain control has characteristic of a clean tube amp and, by fine turning it, you can create a bold and smooth sound which resembles the sound of amp with turned up volume. Equipped with not only boost Gain but also Treble and Bass controls that allow you to adjust sound anyway you like.

True bypass for eliminating any signal interference when it is switched out. All hand wired and hand crafted in the U.S.A. Can be used with AC adaptor (optional) or 9V Battery.
The RC Booster, while voiced similarly to the AC Booster, has characteristics all it's own. Like the sound of your amp, but it's missing just a little edge? This is your cure. The RC Booster's designed to take you over the top, but with style! A low volume/high gain setting produces bluesy, warm overdrive that will make your mouth water. This pedal really shines when you up the volume all the way and back off the gain. This produces a subtle lead boost that will add harmonically rich tones to your tube amp. Sparkling like fresh mountain spring water, the RC Booster will take your amp to the next level.

Darren Lauhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17437457206158103373noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5822847072734380825.post-28792889449905199312009-09-09T11:30:00.001+08:002009-09-14T12:42:22.076+08:00Damage Control Womanizer. GREAT. Don't be fooled cause it's built in. Make no mistake, this is actually a high end compression unit.
-The EQ is very interesting and has a really WIDE RANGE. Altough adding a regular Mids control would make it perfect (and I mean PERFECT).
-The Clean sounds are Pristine, truly BEAUTIFUL and ORGANIC. Cool!
-The distortion: the drive knob is short of gain, you'd like to add the Mid-Boost, Flat Boost or a bit of Comp that this pedal/preamp has available. Overall: you can get saucy crunchy and lead sounds of it wich can be sophisticated or raw. In laymen's term = MARSHALL IN A BOX. SCREW the Crunchbox, Purpleplexi etc.

Oh, it also retails for MYR1.4k

Adapter, and manual is included. Just in case you noobs don't know how to tweak it.Darren Lauhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17437457206158103373noreply@blogger.com0
